June Pootler’s Design Team Week 5

Hi everyone,

This is my final week of the June Pootler’s Design Team Challenge using the Balloon Builders Stamp Set. I’ve chosen a really fun shaker birthday card this week which includes a mouse and lots of cheese! I hope you like it!

PDT Week 5

The colours I’ve used are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. The mouse is stamped in Smoky Slate.

I began by creating tiny pieces of cheese to put inside the window of my card using Daffodil Delight card stock. I cut out some little wedge shapes which were scored at an angle and little holes were punched into them using the two hand held circle punches.

Next I stamped the mouse and balloons using stamps from the Balloon Builders stamp set. The ink pads I used were Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate. The largest balloon was also stamped with the ‘Party Animal’ stamp in Versamark and heat embossed in gold. The mouse’s eyes, nose and mouth were punched out of card using the hand held circle punches.

The card base is made from Melon Mambo card stock and the card front is decorated using two papers from the Pop of Pink Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack. I used the Layering Squares Framelits,  Window Sheets and Foam Adhesive Strips to create the window. Before assembling my card I stamped ‘Time to Party’ from the Confetti Celebration stamp set onto the bottom sheet of DSP and heat embossed it in gold. I placed my cheese pieces and some sequins on top of the Time to Party stamp and then carefully placed my top sheet of Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper over the top.

The balloons were tied with Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine and attached to the card front with Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots. My mouse was given a cute Rhinestone necklace and also attached using Dimensionals.

Inside the card I added a larger piece of cheese with a candle on top. The candle and sentiment stamps are from the Party With Cake stamp set.
